NAWBO Participates in International Council on Small Business 2017 GW October Conference
Teresa Meares, current chair of the NAWBO Institute for Entrepreneurial Development Board and immediate past chair of the NAWBO National Board, was in Washington, D.C. in October to share her path to entrepreneurism and the NAWBO story with academics and advocates from around the world who attended the International Council on Small Business’ 2017 Conference at George Washington University.
Joy Lutes, NAWBO National Director of Public Policy also participated on a panel discussing policies for women business owners and others in Small to Medium Enterprises (SME) with staff from the SBA and United Nations.
As NAWBO continues to move into the international space and learn more about the state of women business owners globally, it is clear that we at NAWBO have lessons, best practices and policies we can share to lift up other women and also that we all end up facing the same challenges and need to unify our voices together for the betterment of all women business owners globally.
According to estimates, there is a need for 600 million jobs to be created worldwide over the next 15 years. Business owners and entrepreneurs, like all of you, will have a huge impact on the future for everyone.
